CGS Virtual Performance 2020

School's Out

Although we weren’t able to perform our 2020 Limited Edition show “The Gang’s All Here”, we wanted to do something fun together as a Gang.

With the Summer holidays fast approaching, we thought it would be wonderful to end Term 4 and commence our holiday season with a virtual performance of “School’s Out”! It’s a fun song about the last day of school and being excited about the holiday break!

This performance is similar to the fabulous Virtual Choir we put together earlier this year for “Together We Can Change the World” but with a twist. This time, we also have a movement video for those of you who love to dance and have missed boogying along to a Gang Show medley with your mates.

We want everyone in our Gang Show family to record themselves singing the same song, playing their musical instrument if part of the orchestra, dancing along to the movement video or even film yourself doing some of the activities mentioned in the song like: Sleeping in, hanging out with your mates, putting on makeup, lazing in the sunshine, riding your bike, going shopping or looking cool in those new ‘threads’ etc.  We welcome multiple videos from you if you’d like to sing, move and film yourself completing an activity! We will combine everyone's videos into one mega video.

It's open to all cast, crew, and supporters; the more the merrier!

Record your video

SINGING VIDEO

{slider title="When you’re ready to record, you’ll need:" open="false"}

  1. One device to record yourself
  2. A second device to play the sing-along video
  3. Headphones or earphones to connect to your second device so only you can hear the song playing (keep one ear free so you can also hear yourself singing)

{slider title="Video recording tips:" open="false"}

  • Check that you’re recording in high resolution and landscape orientation
  • Make sure you’re in a quiet space with no background noise
  • Stand/sit close to your recording device so we can hear your voice clearly
  • Your smiling face is the most important part so make sure your face is well lit
  • Have fun! Remember to smile, move to the beat, and sing from your heart.

MOVEMENT VIDEO

{slider title="When you’re ready to record, you’ll need:" open="false"}

  1. One device to record yourself
  2. A second device to play the movement video – make sure you follow Adele and Kay – they’re moving “Mirror” – so if they move their Left hand, you move your right hand, so you follow it like you’re looking in the mirror.
  3. Turn the song right up so we can hear it on the recording.
  4. Wear Gang Show Shirt (or black shirt if you don’t have one) and black pants
  5. Have a BIG smile, use fun facial expressions and even sing along too!

{slider title="Video recording tips:" open="false"}

  • Check that you’re recording in high resolution and landscape orientation
  • Make sure you have your whole body in the video in a well-lit area – and think about what’s in your background – try to keep it nice and plain. Outdoors in front of the garden is fine.
  • Make sure you put your recording device on a tripod or something flat, so we don’t have any camera movement.
  • Have fun! Remember to make those moves big and sharp
